This may involve entering a new market, evaluating an opportunity, navigating unfamiliar counterparties or making sense of fragmented specialist advice. In such circumstances, sound judgement is often more valuable than speed or scale.
The Advisory Role
Strauss Partners provides a central point of judgement and oversight, helping the client understand the wider situation rather than any one component in isolation.
This may include:
Interpreting the UK context
Assessing opportunities, risks and exposure
Navigating advisers and counterparties
Identifying issues before they become consequential
Clarifying the available options and appropriate direction
The emphasis is not on activity for its own sake, but on improving the quality of the client’s decision.
The Initial Advisory
New client relationships ordinarily begin with a defined Initial Advisory. The scope and fee are agreed in advance.
The purpose is to:
Clarify the context and the client’s objectives
Identify the principal considerations, opportunities and risks
Determine what further information or specialist advice may be required
Provide a clear recommendation on direction
The Initial Advisory also allows both parties to determine whether further involvement would be appropriate and valuable.
Selective Continuation
Where the matter warrants continued involvement and the relationship is well suited, Strauss Partners may provide ongoing advisory or oversight.
The scope is determined by the circumstances and may include decision support, adviser and counterparty navigation, transaction or project oversight, and involvement in complex or sensitive matters.
Principal-Led
The firm is deliberately structured around a limited number of principal-led relationships. Clients work directly with Rian Strauss throughout each engagement, ensuring continuity, accountability and informed judgement.
Communication is direct, contained and confidential. Specialist advisers may be involved where required, but responsibility for the Strauss Partners relationship remains with the principal.
Where continued involvement is valuable, relationships are intended to endure—while remaining discreet and low-visibility by design.
Introductions through existing clients and trusted intermediaries are preferred.
